Posting from the slackberry. Man, I fucking need to get a sidekick instead.

Stuck at ORD waiting for a commuter jet to CLE. Hopefully in time to get sushi w/ Marty and Annie and TimTim.

Vehicle from SFO was tail# N213UA. Also 'spotted' 199, 665 from same fleet (the former a B74, latter a B73 or something like that).

QOTD: tower - "united 134 out of 3000 clear for visual 22 right.. Wait, let me try that again 134 clear out of 3000 visual to *27* right, sorry.." (Beat) 1st officer "134 tower wilco VFR"..

[edit: there was a bit more, but the blackberry only allows a certain amount of text to be entered. the point was, are rear landing gear hit about half a second later. oh how i love ATC gaffes!]

[editedit: apparantly N199UA is also internet.famous (i just plugged the tail number into alnet and the faa website, but google has it listed as an example tail number for registration searches; thereby making it one of the most famous tail numbers on google.]

This is the equipment for Flight UAL 134 out of SFO. Nice plane. Ironically the eticket checkin gives you an option to upgrade to a bulkhead seat for an extra $24, if available. It wasn't. And I got the next row up in front of one of the middle emergency exits, next to a nice young redhead who talked in her sleep and laughed at my joke about going out first if we ditched in the lake (Ontario) since I was clearly more boyant.

Also seen (YA SEEN?) in SFO was this baby:

This picture was taken in April of this year, behind you can see the BART ramps. I've actually spotted this plane serveral times, and I think it may run a regular flight out to NRT; that having been said I plan on being on that plane some day. Headed to NRT preferably (as opposed to an indeterminate patch of the Pacific Ocean).

I saw this 767 pushing back when we came into ORD.

As always, shuttle flights are the first to get fucked up when at O'hare; this time there was a mechanical issue in Witchita that had to be fixed so the plane was over an hour late (any later and the flight would have been cancelled, which would have made me very, very angry).

The CRJ-700 can be seen here:

Sorta like an MD80 or even B717 (except 4-wide 2x2 instead of 5-wide 3x2).

I scribbled down the tail numbers of a few more jets hoping one of them was going to be my commuter shuttle out of ORD, mostly various Embraer configurations (EMB-RJ45 and such)..

So that was my day yesterday. Then on to the grog shop and la cave and rasheed's and finally marty's couch of great discomfort ;)
