so, i skipped town to go to bouchon (sorry gavin).

that was fun, and, $400 later, i say unto nrh and

quigs and

ravinald, merry chrismahanukwaanzicka!

here's what we ate, round "une":

deux tar-tare de salmone (avec some stuff i dont know the french words for, basically, scrambled egg in a brunois, capers, a brunois of shallots, snipped chives and salsify)

deux soup a'la oignon (nic and i)

un soup de jour (cream of cauliflower, dawn)

salade maraichere au chevre chaud (ravi)

demi hombert (dawn)

confit du canard (ravi)

salade frisee aux lardons et ouef poche (nic)

salade de langue de boeuf (pickled vegetables and french green lentils, delicious!, pour moi)

then we all split a tasting course of fromage.. fleur du maquis, selles sur cher et p'tit basque

then desserts, deux sorbet de mangoe (pour moi et dawn), une pot de creme pour nic, une mousse au chocolat noir pour ravi..

with dinner, champagne mojitoes, a stellar (and pricey) split of pinot noir, with desserts coffee and a truely sublime saunternes..

then we went to mondavi, with ravi, haha, then to drewes and now we're wringing rainwater out of our clothes..
